Crowded Places - Stadia and Arenas

NaCTSO has researched and produced a guidance document ‘Counter Terrorism Protective Security Advice for Stadia and Arenas’ (2.2mb pdf).
The document is intended to give protective security advice to those who are responsible for stadium and arena security, irrespective of size and capacity and is not specific to any particular sport or event. It is aimed at those stadia and arenas that are seeking to reduce the risk of a terrorist attack, or limit the damage terrorism might cause.
Stadia and Arena management should use of the guidance to reduce the risk to as low as reasonably practicable. The document contains good practice checklists intended as a guide for stadium and arena management to assist them in identifying the hazards and risks associated with stadium counter terrorism planning.
A number of organisations have adopted good practice to enhance the protective security measures at their stadiums on both event and non event days. This document complements such good practice measures.
For site specific advice relating to your stadium or arena, contact your Counter Terrorism Security Adviser (CTSA) through your local police service.
